The microphone data project was originally a book published by Rycote Microphone Windshields. Loopo were asked to convert the book into a multimedia CD-ROM in 2002, but Rycote later decided that the web would be a better medium for what has become an essential reference work for the audio industry. Loopo were again commissioned to design an easy to use site which allows visitors to search for details on any currently available professional microphone, and even a few historic ones.

An administrative microsite allows Rycote staff to email, manage and download information about the 8,000+ registered users which the site has attracted over the last 2 years.
